Nick Mineo
Nick Mineo is a filmmaker who explores the dissolving of the public persona through situational humor and unique obstacles to bring out the true identities of his characters to the audience. In the current age of social media, he finds that almost everyone has created a public persona and an image of self-perfection. Nick believes that most people are so concerned with this online public image that it has become their forefront identity. Nick also believes that as a society, we disregard the humanity of the people that hold positions of power. In this “cancelled” culture, we give praise and dehumanize people all in one big swoop. Nick’s work focuses on the humanization and the breaking of expectations of those that are notable in a society.
Nick has previously worked in media for multiple radio stations such as 590 AM “The Fan” and KSHE 95 in St. Louis, Missouri as an on-air personality. Nick has written, directed, and produced multiple short films including “Tony’s Angels” and “Welcome to DonDada’s”. He is a recipient of the Steward Scholars Program scholarship.
